Since 2005, the Grand Collective Prayer for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha has each year gathered several thousand worshippers from across the region at Parc Chanot in Marseille.

Organised by the association 2ME – Muslim Marseille Event, this event has become a major moment of spirituality, brotherhood and living together.

  With no public funding whatsoever
  Supported solely by the generosity of the worshippers

                                      TODAY, AN URGENT NEED:

                               THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PRAYER CARPETS

After many years of use and several editions that welcomed thousands of participants, a large portion of the prayer carpets are now worn and must be replaced.

This renewal is essential to:

  ensure the comfort of worshippers
  guarantee optimal hygiene and safety conditions
  provide a clean, dignified and welcoming space
  preserve the quality of this emblematic event in Marseille

Since its creation in 2005, on the occasion of the establishment of the first Regional Council of Muslim Worship (CRCM) PACA, the Grand Collective Prayer for Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha has become an unmissable event for Muslims in Marseille and the surrounding region.

Organised under the aegis of the Council of Imams of Marseille and its Surroundings (C.I.M.E), this celebration gathers each year several thousand worshippers of all ages and origins around a unique moment of spirituality, brotherhood and unity.

A UNIQUE SETTING IN MARSEILLE

Today, this flagship celebration of the Muslim calendar is regularly held at Parc Chanot, a venue offering an ideal location as well as unmatched amenities in terms of space, accessibility and services in Marseille.



Today it is Muslim Marseille Event (2ME), an association made up exclusively of volunteers, that organises this biannual event. Its financing relies entirely on donations from participants, with no public subsidies.

Today, this major celebration takes place at Parc Chanot, an emblematic venue

offering exceptional reception conditions thanks to its capacity, accessibility and facilities suited to an event of this scale.

Each edition nonetheless represents a significant human, logistical and financial challenge.

The organisation is ensured by the association Muslim Marseille Event (2ME), made up exclusively of committed volunteers who give their time and energy to allow thousands of people to experience this moment in the best conditions.

No public subsidy is granted to this event.

Its continuation and improvement therefore rely entirely on the generosity of worshippers and donors.**

Each contribution, even modest, helps to:

ensure the holding of the collective prayer;

welcome families in a secure and dignified setting;

improve organisation and services offered;

preserve this unifying event for the years to come.

The rental of Parc Chanot as well as costs related to operations, reception, logistics and security represent more than 80% of the total budget.
