School project for children with Down syndrome in Oran

Kheira tragically lost her 23-year-old son in July 2019. In September of the same year, she had a dream that would change her life forever, offering a hope of healing in the face of this heartbreaking loss.

She shares her dream with us: _in a path, several children with Down syndrome hold branches with leaves. Each leaf held by a child represents a letter of her son's name, NASREDDINE - May Allah have mercy on him._

A few days later, she discovered https://www.facebook.com/ahbaballah06/, dedicated to the children with Down syndrome from her native neighborhood in Algeria. Interpreting this as a sign from the Divine, she took all the necessary steps to join this association and support them in every possible way.

Created by a mother whose child has Down syndrome, this association cares for about 60 children, aged 4 to 20, mostly orphans and living in precarious conditions, from the city of Oran and its surroundings. These young people are supported by a multidisciplinary team including teachers, physiotherapists, speech therapists and activity leaders.

Kheira's goal is to provide education to these children, who are often rejected because of their physical disability and financial difficulties.

Since September 2019, Kheira has been part of the board and represents the association abroad. She has initiated many commendable actions, such as purchasing schoolbags and smocks, school supplies, organizing celebrations and solidarity meals, as well as raising local funds to meet essential needs such as household appliances, sanitary installations, etc.

Kheira mobilizes many volunteers in the Lyon area, but she aspires to give the association a new dimension to allow more children with Down syndrome to access education and thrive.

She wishes to realize a medium- and long-term project:

* Build a center adapted to their disability.

* Train the children in trades to promote their financial autonomy.

However, this project requires substantial funding, and the association relies on the generosity of donors to make it happen.

Currently, there is an urgent need: families of these children with Down syndrome are having difficulty bringing them to school.

Kheira is therefore seeking donations to finance a shuttle with a driver that will collect the children from the surrounding areas and take them to school. Immediate needs include purchasing the shuttle and a budget allocation for the driver's salary.

The NLH association was deeply moved by this story and this admirable project, which is why it actively supports Kheira's work.

A gesture of solidarity can change lives. By contributing financially to this project, you offer children with Down syndrome the opportunity for adapted education and a promising future. Every donation, however modest, counts and makes a real difference.

Thank you for your support and generosity.

Let's build a path toward inclusion and autonomy for these children and together be a Nouvelle Leur pour l'Humanité.
