Many of you have followed and supported us since we launched our social group I AM TALIBÉ. Now that we have just finished the MY DARRA II project, we are already working on a new project, MY DAARA III.
This time, I AM TALIBÉ is thinking even bigger. We have decided to embark on the construction of a refuge for the talibé children of the Fatick region in Senegal.
Indeed, we have observed that many children do not have the chance to be housed in a daara and are forced to live on the streets. A large majority of these children fled their daara because they were mistreated by their marabout.
That is why, instead of building a shelter that would only serve as a classroom, we simply want to offer them a roof where they can live, sleep, receive medical care, learn the Quran and be safe.
The first phase of the project consists of building a health center. The talibés do not have access to medical care. Very often when they are injured, their wounds become infected and many children die. Thus, as part of the MY DAARA III project, we will also provide them with medical and health equipment.
In addition to this construction, we provide the talibés with food supplies, clothing, shoes, hygiene kits, toys, snacks, meals and Quranic books.
