➡️The sacrifice (on the day of Eid) is obligatory for the person who is well-off and can do it after meeting their essential needs.
✔️It commemorates Allah’s close friend: Ibrahim (peace be upon him), in his full submission to the command of his Lord (exalted and glorified).
✔️The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever is well-off and does not perform the sacrifice (on the day of Eid), then let him not approach our place of prayer.”
// Reported by Ibn Mâdjah //
✔️Valid only with the sacrifice of a herd animal:
Camels, cattle (cow, ox…), and ovines (sheep…)
✔️“Sacrifice only an animal that has reached the minimal age unless that is difficult for you; in that case a older/adult animal among the ovines.”
// Reported by Muslim 1963 //
The minimum age: for goats/sheep it is one full year (entering the second year), for cattle it is two full years (entering the third year), and for camels five years.
✔️It is part of the sunnah to sacrifice a healthy, well-built animal.
➡️The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever wants to sacrifice while the first ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah) have already begun, let him not cut his hair nor his nails.”
// Reported by Muslim //
➡️A man may sacrifice an ovine/caprine on behalf of himself and his family.
And the basis for this is that the Prophet (peace be upon him) sacrificed one ovine/caprine for himself and his family.
// Agreed upon: Ibn Majah and Tirmidhi //
A camel or a cow may be shared between seven people, whether they are from the same family or not, related or not, because the Prophet (peace be upon him) allowed the companions to share in the sacrifice of a camel or cow.
Regarding ovines, the sharing is only between the person and the members of his household; it is not permissible to associate others.
➡️The sacrifice must be made after the Eid prayer:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said on the day of sacrifice: “Whoever sacrificed before the prayer, let him sacrifice again. And whoever has not done it, let him do it.”
// Reported by al-Bukhari //
➡️The reward:
“The man performs no deed more beloved to Allah on the day of sacrifice than shedding the blood (of the sacrificed animal).
The animal will come on the Day of Resurrection with its horns, hair and hooves.
Allah accepts the sacrifice even before the blood has been shed, so sacrifice willingly.”
// Reported by at-Tirmidhi //
➡️Whoever intends to sacrifice does not have the right to cut his hair or body hair, nor his nails, nor a part of his skin (during the ten days of Dhul-Hijjah)
// Reported by Imam Muslim //
✔️As for the one who sacrifices on behalf of another person [by proxy], or on behalf of a charitable project, it is permitted for him to cut his hair or body hair, as well as his nails or skin, because he is not actually the one performing the sacrifice. This obligation then concerns only the person who gave him the proxy to perform the sacrifice, or the author of the charitable project in question.
Likewise, the one who manages the charitable project without being its author is not considered the one who performs the sacrifice; he is only the executor. — Shaykh ibn Baz
➡️It is permitted to mandate someone to perform the Eid sacrifice on your behalf, even though it is preferable to do it oneself.
If you cannot perform the sacrifice yourself for various reasons or if the conditions are not met (in France, the law allows ritual slaughter only in approved slaughterhouses and therefore prohibits it in clandestine slaughterhouses, on farms, at a private home or anywhere else, notably at supply sites),
✔️Give a proxy for 130 euros = the sacrifice, to the association Pak Charity - I H 2 C 2 S - France to enable needy families in Pakistan to celebrate Eid with dignity.
The sacrifice will be carried out according to the rules and the meat will be distributed quickly.
We collect the money, we take care of buying the animals locally and having them sacrificed in your name, and they will be given to needy families on site. You will of course receive photos and proof of your sadaqa by email.
✔️When you make your payment, your name will be displayed on our account as well as your email address.
Your name will be mentioned at the immolation. (If it is a different name, send us an email: [email protected], Snapchat ih2c2s or our Facebook page pak charity ih2c2s FRANCE)
May Allah, the Exalted, bestow His blessings upon you

FOR INFORMATION:
Sending the money for the sacrifice to be slaughtered in another country
Question:
A Muslim resides in a non-Islamic country, and if he performs the ritual slaughter for Eid al-Adha, he may not find needy people to give the meat to.
He therefore thinks he should send its price to poor Muslims or have the animal slaughtered on their land; what is the ruling?
Answer:
If he sends it to be slaughtered there, there is no objection to that.
It is a good thing, through trustworthy people.
And if he sends its value, there is no harm.
But if he slaughters it at his place and it is easy for him to find people among his companions and brothers to eat it, that is better, fulfilling the sunnah in his place among Islamic communities living in foreign countries.
He may give it to his fellow students and Muslims, and he may give it to non-Muslims; there is no harm if they are not hostile to Islam, since it is a voluntary charity.
And if he sends it to the poor in Africa, to the mujahidin if any, or sends its value, there is no harm.
Question:
Is it sufficient to send a sum of money to buy an animal to be slaughtered for Eid al-Adha abroad for the poor and needy?
Answer:
There is no harm in sacrificing it for his family or abroad.
But it is better for his family.
If he performs the ritual slaughter at his home, eats from it, and gives abundantly to those around him, that is better, following the Prophet (peace be upon him), because he performed the sacrifice in his home, ate from it and fed others.
And if he wants to perform ritual slaughter of another animal in a place where there are poor people in another country, he will be rewarded; it is among acts of charity.
