I created this fundraiser to help my daughter and my grandchildren, aged 3 and 4½, who have been living a true nightmare for six months. After separating from the children's father, he became extremely violent, harassing them, making death threats, destroying their home and setting vehicles on fire. He is already known to the police for violent acts with a weapon but remains free by court decision. My daughter has to hide and has had to move for the third time in six months. I had the idea for this fundraiser to help her financially: she needs to refurnish her home, pay lawyers, buy a small car, and try to start a new life from scratch. She is currently staying in a Red Cross hotel that houses women who suffer from domestic violence, but it is not at all suited to her situation.
I cannot take her into my home because, since her ex-partner knows the address, she is not at all safe — and neither are we.
I know that nowadays everyone is asked for donations; I'm not asking for charity or a fortune, just a little to give her a helping hand.
