Project Wells
The CollecTif PuiTs de HassanaTes is a non-governmental, non-profit organization that works to improve access to drinking water in various countries such as Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Madagascar, Guinea, Togo, Benin and other countries.
By offering Muslim men and women the opportunity to finance manually dug wells at reduced prices as well as boreholes.
Access to drinking water is a fundamental right, but it is not a reality for millions of people in Africa and elsewhere.
According to the World Health Organization, around 663 million people in Africa do not have access to a safe drinking water source.
The lack of drinking water negatively impacts the health, education and economy of communities without access to it.
These populations are more likely to contract waterborne diseases, such as diarrhea, cholera and typhoid, etc.
These diseases can be deadly, especially for children.
Our wells therefore help to improve the daily life of communities and are an important driver of development and a way to radically change the lifestyle of villagers sometimes very remote as you can see through our videos.
Since July 2016, the CollecTif PuiTs de HassanaTes has financed around 1000 wells (to be confirmed) worldwide, the majority of which are referenced on video on YouTube. (add YouTube channel)
The specifications inherent to the construction of a well consist of 4 conditions to be met:
1- A need for the population.
2- Muslims and then non-Muslims.
3- A referent and person responsible for the well.
4- A commitment by the inhabitants to ensure that the well endures over time and remains functional as much as possible. (monitoring, maintenance, etc...)

Manually dug wells have many advantages, for example:
- Affordable cost: Manually dug wells are generally much cheaper to dig than machine-drilled wells. This makes them more accessible to low-income communities who cannot afford a drilled well.
Flexibility: Manually dug wells can be dug in a variety of conditions, including rocky areas and areas with shallow water levels. This makes them more adaptable to the needs of local communities.
Durability: Manually dug wells are generally more durable than machine-drilled wells. This is due to the fact that manually dug wells are built with solid materials, such as brick or concrete, and can be re-dug if they run dry.
The problem with manually pumped wells is that if the pump breaks, populations generally do not have the means to repair it. This sometimes results in the well being abandoned...
That is why we opted for traditional wells.
In conclusion, manually dug wells are an effective and affordable solution to provide access to drinking water to the most deprived over the long term by the permission of Allah the Most High.
