As-salamu alaykum,
A few months ago, this Quranic school was in a pitiful state! Today, by the grace of our Creator and thanks to your donations, we have been able to begin renovating and beautifying it. Alhamdulillah.
May Allah turn your donations into hasanāt that open the doors of Paradise.
By Allah’s permission and thanks to your donations we were able to:
1. Complete the painting of the madrasa walls
Find the "BEFORE WORK" photos at the bottom of the page
2. Replace the carpets in the classrooms and prayer rooms
3. Install new ceiling fans
4. Replace chalkboards with whiteboards
What do you think? Isn’t the madrasa beautiful with its "new clothes"?
Do we stop here? Or do we make a little extra effort to complete the renovation of the madrasa?
No, my dear brothers and sisters, no one can abandon these little children. We must offer them dignified conditions because they learn the words of Allah and of His Prophet ﷺ.
What works remain to be done?
- Strengthening the structure (mainly the roof)
- Replacing the windows
- Purchasing a new photocopier
- Installing and/or replacing doors to separate rooms.
- Repairing leaks in the ablution room.
For this, we call again on your generosity in this blessed month of Ramadan.
The house of Allah where His Book is taught needs you! Abu Bakr and his pupils/students need you. Answer the call, and participate by giving a few euros or by sharing this fundraiser around you. Remember the words of our beloved Prophet ﷺ:
"The one who guides to good has the same reward as the one who does it."
All funds collected will be used exclusively for the renovation of the madrasa.
Only Cotizup fees will be deducted from the total amount collected.
We will keep you informed of the progress of the work on our Instagram @queduhoob, and on our blog https://www.queduhoob.com.
May Allah reward you. Ameen

SAVE THE MADRASSA OF MATEMWE! (ZANZIBAR)
February 2021
Dear brothers and sisters,
During our road-trip in Tanzania and on the island of Zanzibar, we stayed in a small village located on the east of the island.
Matemwe is a small village where the inhabitants mainly live off fishing. This part of the island is known for its huge white sandy beach. Tourists come to relax and stroll on the beach, which is why they visit this area of Zanzibar.
Few travelers go to the small villages and those who do rarely meet the local population, preferring the comfort and relaxation offered by their hotel. In Matemwe, there are no tourist infrastructures outside the hotel complexes and a few rare restaurants.
You now know us through our https://www.queduhoob.com, and you know that this is not our idea of travel. So we decided to visit the village and, very quickly, our arrival did not go unnoticed…
We went to meet the villagers to speak with them. Alhamdulillah, they offered us an extraordinary welcome that we will never forget. Zanzibaris, for the most part, are people of exceptional qualities—smiling, generous and devoted to their religion. May Allah preserve them and protect their beautiful island from all harm. Ameen
After eating in a small local restaurant, we went to the madrasa where children and teenagers study the Quran and Islamic sciences. No fewer than 600 students are welcomed in this small school. Every year dozens of young people complete the memorization of the Quran. These hundreds of smiles on the children’s faces did not leave us indifferent.
While visiting the school, we were stunned, shocked and outraged by the conditions in which these children studied the Book of Allah:
- Very little electricity
- Damaged paint
- Worn-out carpets
- Mosquitoes
- Faulty ventilation
- Archaic and unreadable boards
- Photocopier that no longer works
- Shelves in a pitiful state
In short, conditions that do not favor learning and knowledge.
Imagine for even 5 seconds that our children study in these conditions… Wouldn’t we be outraged? Will we remain idle without trying to do something to improve their conditions?
These little Tanzanian children are ours, they are yours. Did not the best of men say: "None of you will have faith until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself." (Reported by Bukhari and Muslim)
We would never imagine our children learning in such conditions for a single second.
We met the principal and teacher of this school to benefit from his knowledge and to speak with him.
His name is Abu Bakr; he gave his life to teaching. He has always taught at this school. He does it voluntarily every day, mash'Allah. When one of his students memorizes the Quran and he considers him able to teach, Abu Bakr asks him to take charge of some pupils (often the youngest).
Very moved by this man, his qualities and his devotion to Islam, my wife and I looked at each other, and a long silence accompanied our looks. We immediately thought that we could not be witnesses to this, see all these children in such a situation and do nothing…
I immediately thought of the Hadith of our noble Prophet ﷺ in which he says:
"Allah helps the servant as long as the servant helps his brother," "whoever takes care of the needs of his brother then Allah will take care of his needs" (reported by Muslim).
Would you not, dear brother, dear sister, like Allah to help you? To relieve your distress and take care of all your needs without you even having to think about it? We do…
Afterwards, we spent time with Abu Bakr and Subhan'Allah, we heard from him neither requests nor complaints.
Of our own accord, we offered him our humble help hoping for the reward from ALLAH.
With him, we listed the works that should be undertaken so that the madrasa can continue to welcome future students in decent conditions.
Here is the first stage of the madrasa renovation:
- Repaint all rooms.
- Renew the entire electrical system
- Renovate the carpeting
- Purchase a new photocopier
We estimated the cost of these works at: 3500 euros.
This includes the purchase of materials, transport and payment of workers.
This project was so essential that we could not leave without laying the first stone… That is why, from our own funds, we decided to buy paint, pay for transport to the village and pay workers so that they could start as soon as possible to restore this magnificent place of knowledge.
Alhamdulillah, here are the results:
There therefore remain 3000 euros of works and purchases to be carried out (after deducting the cost of the paint).
My dear brothers and sisters, we cannot stop now. There is still a great deal of work to do, but as we always say, it is the small pebbles that make great mountains and if alone we go faster, together we go further! Let us not let these hundreds of children learn the best of sciences in such conditions.
Everyone can bring their little stone, by giving the money that Allah has given them or by supplicating for the realization of this project or by sharing this fundraiser.
Muslim reported from Abu Mas'ud Al-Ansari that a man came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said: My mount has died, give me another. He replied: "I do not have one." A man said: O Messenger of Allah! I will indicate someone who will give him one! The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "The one who guides to good has the same reward as the one who does it."
According to our statistics, a single share raises an average of 30 euros.
