Dear donor,
As every year, our association Saha L-Bled launches its “Back to School 2023” campaign to purchase school supplies and textbooks for needy children in the different regions of Algeria.
Education is clearly one of the most powerful tools to fight poverty and inequality.
These supplies and textbooks will certainly bring joy to these children, reduce school dropout, and relieve the burden on their families.
The list of required school supplies is the one defined by the Ministry of Education of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. The average cost for the primary and middle school cycle is 20 EUR. This set is completed by a school bag valued at 10 EUR. The cost of a set of school supplies is therefore 30 EUR per student.
These supplies will be purchased from partner wholesalers in Algeria, who are participating with us in this campaign. They will then be sorted, checked and packaged in the bags before being distributed to the children.
The school textbooks will be purchased by partner teachers in Algeria and distributed to the students at the resumption of classes. The cost of the books is 15 EUR per student.
No matter the amount, every donation is important.
