🕌 Expansion of the Mosque & Construction of the Qur’âniyya Madrassah



✨*History of the Mosque*

The mosque of the village Beni Abed, in Sidi M’hamed (commune of Honaine, Wilaya of Tlemcen in Algeria), bears a history marked by trial and patience.

Once, it was at the heart of village life: a place of prayer, Quran learning and gathering.

Then came the civil war.

The mosque was severely damaged.

The inhabitants had to flee, leaving behind their homes, their lands… and their place of worship.

It was only in 2015 that the families returned, finally safe, to recover what remained of their village.

The mosque, built of earth and roofed with bamboo, was very dilapidated.

Yet, despite everything, it remained the only place of prayer.

Later, they undertook renovations, but they underestimated the very high cost of the work.

This small disadvantaged village does not have the means to finance such a reconstruction on its own.



🧱 1st phase of the project: Reconstruction of the ground floor (COMPLETED alhamdulillah)**

By the grace of Allah and your generosity:

    •    the slab was poured

    •    the walls were raised

    •    the main structure was installed

A simple and dignified space was reborn.



🎨 2nd phase of the project: Interior finishes (COMPLETED alhamdulillah)**

We were able to fund:

plastering, painting, doors, windows

aftercare equipment

water room

a beautiful new carpet

The prayer room is now clean, welcoming and functional.



🕌 3rd phase of the project (ongoing in shaa Allah): Expansion & minaret**

The fund will finance in shaa Allah:

🔹 The minaret (as-som‘a)**

So that the adhan resounds throughout the village.



🔹 A prayer room for women**

On the upper floor, with a real reception capacity.



🔹 The Qur’âniyya madrassa**

To reconnect with the mosque’s primary purpose: teaching the Book of Allah to children and adults.



Work will be carried out in stages in shaa Allah :**

✅ 2nd milestone reached : 60 000 € alhamdulillah



👉🏻 Heading to 3rd milestone : 70 000 € (ONGOING IN SHAA ALLAH)

Major interior fittings:

• Tiling

• Wall tiles

• Windows

• Electrical installation & lighting

• Plumbing / water room 

• And everything that makes the spaces functional

• Major works of the women’s prayer room & madrassa on the upper floor

• The rest of the major works, water rooms…

• The mortuary washing room

The phase of finishing and equipping :

• Carpets for the prayer room

• Furniture

• Tables and materials for the madrassa

• Boards, louha for the students

• Supplies necessary for teaching the Quran

• Complete arrangement of the spaces



*✨ Participation of the inhabitants*

The inhabitants also contribute according to their very limited means.

As soon as they see the work progressing, a true surge of generosity arises:

bags of cement, cinder blocks, essential materials…

Each gives what they can, and every gesture counts. 



✨ Who is behind the project ?**

Samira Oum Ihsan, founder of DOUSOEUREINE, teacher of Arabic language, tajwid, Quran, spiritual guide.

She supervises the entire project remotely, coordinates procedures, ensures transparency, communication and monitoring of the stages.

Mellouki Brahim, father of Samira, and essential supporter of the project.

He is responsible for on-site coordination: relations with village leaders, monitoring the work, verifying real needs, providing continuous information.

📜_ “There are 7 things whose reward reaches the servant in his grave after his death: the one who taught a science, dug the bed of a river, dug a well, planted a palm tree, built a mosque, left a mushaf (Quran) as an inheritance or left a pious child who asks forgiveness for him after his death.” (Al Bazar)_
