Almsgiving during Ramadan has more merits than during the other months of the year

The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم indeed nicknamed it the month of solidarity (muwâsât).

He himself was more generous on this occasion than a fruitful wind.

According to a hadîth:

"By feeding a fasting person, one redeems his sins, frees him from Hell, and takes the same reward as him without diminishing his own."

This text extols the merits of alms during Ramadan.

It is all the more meritorious since people in need suffer more during the day from hunger and thirst, because they do not have enough to properly satisfy themselves.

By showing generosity towards them, we thus help them better endure the fast.

Furthermore, acts of worship performed in meritorious places or periods receive a greater reward than elsewhere or at ordinary times.

Thus, meritorious places and periods allow the reward to be multiplied.

For example, prayer at the Holy Mosque of Mecca is worth one hundred thousand prayers; and in Medina, it is worth a thousand compared to other mosques.

Meritorious periods also enjoy this privilege.

The month of Ramadan is therefore more likely to receive this merit.

It is the month of good deeds and high ranks.
