Second call for donations
Since the start of the lockdown, we, a collective of teachers and parents of pupils from the public schools of Belle-de-Mai (nursery/primary/middle school), located in the 3rd arrondissement of Marseille and designated REP+ (réseau d’éducation prioritaire +), have appealed to your solidarity through this fundraiser.
Indeed, with most charities closed, informal small jobs impossible, and public authorities slow to intervene with very inadequate food distributions*, more and more families have found themselves in vital need.
To our past donors: thanks to you, nearly one hundred families currently benefit from the collective’s support, and donations have been distributed more or less regularly to over 60 families (at a rate of 20 euros per week per person with no income) as well as emergency aid to around forty families whose resources were so meagre they could no longer eat after a few weeks of lockdown.
To date, almost all of your donations have been disbursed (24110€) and the number of families contacting us continues to increase. We have therefore decided to extend the support put in place as long as possible beyond May 11, while activity resumes.
If you have already contributed, we send you the sincere thanks of all these families and we apologise for asking you again for this second campaign.

*only 25 % of the food packages requested from the metropolis were provided on three occasions, with a value of 30€ per family/week regardless of the number of people in the family, and quantities far too insufficient to feed a family for a week.
According to our statistics, a single share raises an average of 30 euros.
