The Stop Carnet collective, which is fighting a proposed industrial zone, needs a financial boost!
This financial support will make it possible to carry out additional collective actions: fund poster prints, flyers, stickers, fund legal support for the struggle, organize events, respond to any other collective need...
Some figures about the Carnet project we are fighting against:
- An industrial zone on 110 ha of natural area including 51 ha of wetland
- A project in a flood-prone area that requires 550 000 m3 of fill to be raised by 50 cm, half of which comes from dredging the Loire
- 116 protected species at risk of being destroyed
- 550 heavy goods vehicles and 2 000 light vehicles extra per day around the area
- A so-called "eco"-technological zone project ("eco"-technologies that are not ecological) that has found no investor in 10 years
No consultation or awareness-raising of local residents has been carried out by local elected officials regarding the project. The Carnet struggle, which we carry out autonomously but in solidarity with the ZAD du Carnet, has proven that it established a mobilization, media and political balance of power that made the project waver. Our struggle is paying off!
