PROJECT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF TWO DRINKING WATER WELLS
1. Project Title
Construction of two drinking water wells for the community of Abutia and Mafi
2. Context and Justification
The localities of Abutia and Mafi face a problem of access to drinking water. Residents, particularly women and children, travel long distances to collect often unsafe water, which leads to frequent waterborne diseases (diarrhea, cholera, etc.).
The construction of a well will:
Improve public health
Reduce the water-collection burden
Strengthen school attendance for children
Stimulate agricultural and domestic activities
3. Project Objective
an accessible, sustainable and secure source of drinking water for the community of Abutsia and Mafi
4. Beneficiaries
About 700 inhabitants (men, women, children)
Schools, local farmers and livestock keepers.

5. Duration of Implementation per Well
Approximately 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the digging/drilling method and soil conditions
6. Monitoring and Evaluation
The project will be monitored by a local water management committee, trained and supported to ensure:
- Equipment maintenance
- Collection of community contributions
- Sustainability of the well
