The twins, Agathe and Diane, _aka_ the "Magic Sisters", and Martine, a 2.0 teacher: this is how Team On the Raid Again was born! It’s true that when you think about it, the team’s composition is rather atypical. Who would be crazy enough to set off with their teacher (and what a teacher!) to tread Martinican soil to take part in a raid? And yet…
Between Agathe and Martine there was a real teacher/student bond, very quickly turned into a friendship, and, twins to the end but especially swept up by the frenzy of this crazy project, Diane quickly (if not immediately) became friends with Martine. In short, it’s a team as unusual as it is tightly knit.
And finally, to describe the team for you, Martine is a bit like the team mom, first in her role as a caring and passionate Marketing teacher, then as the Team Captain! She’s the one who actually brought the rest of the team on board: Agathe, the karateka, and Diane, the dancer.
If we decided, together, to set foot on Martinican territory, it’s for several reasons: far from us the idea of claiming the top spot in the rankings, we want, like many other teams, to push ourselves and go to the limits of our abilities while defending the colors of our school: the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers du Grand-Est and the Faculty of Law, Economics and Management of Nancy.
The idea of defending a cause that is close to our hearts will push us even further, since we are running for Association Fibromyalgie France - La Douleur Autrement which fights, supports and raises awareness about fibromyalgia, a chronic illness still too little recognized. It is an illness from which Diane suffers, and which has made the whole team aware.
What is fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia, in a few words, is "a syndrome characterized by widespread pain throughout the body, pain associated with severe fatigue and sleep disorders. This syndrome does not lead to serious complications, but is very debilitating and often prevents the person who suffers from it from carrying out their daily activities or holding down a full-time job."
We are counting on everyone’s support: there is no such thing as a small donation, every contribution is one more step forward in Martinique!
