I had the honor of spending several days in Algeria last summer at a zawiya that welcomes more than 200 children.
A zawiya is a school where children learn the Quran and are supported on a daily basis.
The majority of these children are orphans or have been abandoned by their families.
For fifteen days, I shared their daily life.
Their reality is simple: their basic needs are not always met.
We are talking about the essentials here:
– Daily food
– Clothing
– Hygiene products
– Dignified living conditions
Today, I vouch for this fundraiser.
On the occasion of the week of solidarity and the month of Ramadan, I am launching this campaign to finance one month of basic food for these 200 children.
This is not about luxury.
It is about ensuring that a child can eat properly.
This institution is run by a single man, an educator and imam who has devoted his life to not abandoning these children.
He supervises them, educates them, and supports them consistently despite limited means.
The Quran has restored dignity to the orphans.
Today, we can contribute to that dignity.
I have set a goal corresponding to one month of food.
If the fundraiser exceeds this amount, the funds will be used to cover other essential needs.
