What is a verified fundraiser?

This means that CotizUp has confirmed that the fundraiser is managed by an authentic profile belonging to an individual, organization, company, association, or public figure. The probability of identity theft is considered "none".

Keep in mind that a verified fundraiser does not guarantee the proper execution or use of the money collected by the organizer. Likewise, an unverified fundraiser does not mean it is an inauthentic profile, but simply one that has not yet been checked by CotizUp's teams.

A verified fundraiser is identified by this notice:

Participate with confidence

This fundraising has been controlled and verified by CotizUp.

Note: fundraiser verification is not done on request; there is no form to ask for a fundraiser to be reviewed. CotizUp teams review fundraisers randomly. If your fundraiser is not yet verified, there are other ways to show participants that your profile is authentic and earn their trust. For example, in your fundraiser description, you can provide as many details as possible about your identity or fundraiser, a link to your social media profile, your official website, or your X (ex Twitter) account.

The description is the most important part of a fundraiser, because this is where you should provide as many details as possible to answer visitors' questions, and therefore potential donors' questions. A very short description may be perceived as negligence or as showing little importance for your project. A good description includes a detailed explanation of your fundraiser's goal, why it matters so much to you and, if possible, quotes, invoices, figures, and so on. You can also use this space to add more photos. The more detail you provide, the more credible you will appear to donors.
