Can I launch a fundraising for a high-risk area?
Our humanitarian commitment
At CotizUp, we aspire to peace everywhere and strongly believe in generosity and sharing as a force for positive change. In recent years, we have seen a significant increase in people wanting to raise funds for residents of high-risk areas (conflicts, political unrest, etc.). To comply with international laws and ensure proper fund distribution on the ground, our banks and payment partners require additional due diligence, which may result in longer processing times.
Verified nonprofits only
On CotizUp, only verified nonprofits can launch fundraisings for high-risk areas. Individuals are not authorized to create such campaigns. This measure ensures aid is delivered effectively, transparently, and in compliance with current regulations.
Role of our compliance team
- Confirm nonprofit identity: strict verification of legal information, official documents, and active field presence.
- Verify project reliability: in-depth analysis of goals, expected impact, and implementation methods for each humanitarian project.
- Review track record: examination of nonprofit history, past achievements, and reputation in the humanitarian community.
- Ensure legal compliance: make sure all fundraisings comply with national and international laws, as well as our Terms of Use.
SEPA bank account requirement
- Ensure smooth financial transactions: transfers within the SEPA area are fast and secure, enabling efficient distribution of raised funds.
- Comply with financial regulations: compliance with SEPA standards ensures alignment with European money transfer laws.
- Facilitate control and traceability: a SEPA bank account improves transparency and traceability of funds, strengthening donor trust.
