How does a nonprofit activate tax receipts?
You can activate tax receipts if your nonprofit is eligible to issue its own receipts. A tax receipt may allow your donors to claim tax relief, so issuing one remains your responsibility. If you are unsure whether your nonprofit is eligible, confirm this before activating tax receipts, for example by requesting a tax ruling.
To activate tax receipts
- Log in to your account, then open My nonprofit.
- If the option is available in My nonprofit, activate tax receipts only after checking that your organisation is eligible to issue them.
- Complete the requested declaration: contact e-mail, basis for your authorisation, signatory details and signature, then confirm it.
Activation in CotizUp is not approval from the tax authority. Before activating tax receipts, make sure your nonprofit is eligible to issue them, then retain the required supporting documents. Consult the French tax authority's information on organisations that can issue tax receipts. Your nonprofit issues receipts in its own name and remains responsible for them; CotizUp provides the generation and management tool. Any tax relief also depends on the donor's circumstances.
